Senior Mechanical Engineer



Introduction

Our client requires a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide the engineering focus for all Mechanical and Marine Systems supported by our client’s services. These include pumps, caissons, gates and cranes.



The successful candidate will be required to establish and maintain long term ownership programmes for our client’s critical equipment i.e. show survey programmes, scheduled major refits and replacements. The responsibility to extend throughout the asset life cycle during which period you will be responsible for leading the engineering reviews related to the assets at key milestones.



Due to the nature of this role it will ideally suit a person with extensive working knowledge within the marine environment or Royal Navy.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include the following:

- Engineering Assurance and oversight of Mechanical and Marine Engineering Assets managed by our client, including pumps, caissons, gates and cranes.

- Establish and maintain the technical policy for operating and maintaining all assets.

- Engineering assurance of related procurement activities.

- Approval of maintenance of related risk management and mitigation plans.

- Providing professional engineering support to projects.



Applicant Requirements:

- Ideally be degree qualified and/or chartered status.

- Extensive working knowledge within the above industry.

- Strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation and application.
